Meet the Expert

Introducing Joanna LaFleur, the CEO and Founder of Memory Lane Foundation. With a degree in Recreational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University and 20 years of experience in the elder care industry, watch the video to learn more about Joanna and discover what drives her to make a positive impact in Dementia Care.

First-Hand Experience

At 17, Joanna witnessed the impact of Alzheimer's on her grandmother and experienced the strain on her family. Working in eldercare, she observed inadequate support and low-quality care. Despite facing resistance for advocating a more human-centric approach, often being labeled "too sensitive," Joanna recognized the need for change and took action.

Innovating the Industry

Joanna founded a private homecare company and then an assisted living community based on her new approach to Dementia care. Her company converted residential homes into care centers, ensuring a remarkable one-to-three caregiver-to-resident ratio, creating a healthier, home-away-from-home environment for every resident. She led a team of passionate, dependable, well-trained staff who shattered the status quo in Dementia care and created a company that didn’t just care for, but cared about the people living with dementia they served.
